change resolution after tscon 1 /dest:console windows 7 64bit

We try to make a GUI test with a virtual machine and windows 7 64bit. For connecting we use a RDP client.

If we use "tscon 1 /dest:console" the program can test the GUI, but the resolution changes to 640x480. For good testing we need a resolution of 1280x800.

In a 32bit system i tried QRes.exe and it works very good (see: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/0ca62c6b-333d-474f-95a2-0b3eda22b4c2/why-tscon-2-destconsole-changes-screen-resolution-to-640x480-pixels?forum=winserverTS). But now we need a 64bit system and for this there is no QRes.exe. We also tried DisplayChanger, ResSwitch.exe and MultiRes. They all could not change the resolution.

Has anyone a idea/result for this?

Hi,

As far as I know, screen resolution of the session would be changed to match the resolution of the console it is being attached to.

You may get insights regarding third party tools from other forum community members. Or, you may use Powershell cmdlets or other scripts to change screen resolution.
