cannot open folders when remotely connected
Hello,I have 2 users with new identical laptops (XP Pro sp3)They have a problem with accessing folders on 2003 when connectedby VPN to the LAN. They didn't have the error on previous laptops. So they can blame a hardware for Windows access error :)They have shortcuts to shared folders on their desktops. When click on shortcut login box appears. When typing user and password they getting error:-- The user name you typed is the same as the user name you logged in with. That user name has already been tried. A domain controller cannot be found to verify that user name.--Shortcuts refers to \\server_ip\share.As login they tried:domain_name\user_nameserver_name\user_nameor just user_name The result is the same.As a temp solution, I suggested them to login as localuser and when on vpn type domain credentials. This way it works. What it could be? Thanks,Michael.

Rajesh, absolutely no problems when on Lan. Logged in user access any shared folder as by clicking on it or shortcut. The issue is as I described at home when the user logs in with his cashed AD credentials and establish VPN connection.I saw the same problem discussion on another forum. People suspect Kerberos problem.Unfortunately, I cannot get log from the users they both are on business trip for a week and I will be in the office only Thursday. But I may have time to connect to the server remotely and see Security log.So check please this thread. Thanks,Michael.

It happens for 2 shared folders.I checked Eventsvwr on the server. Apps log and others are absolutely clean. The users are still on business trip for a second week.So I cannot check the log on computers.
