I am using windows 2003 r2 standard edition, when staring computer the prompt will come to press control+alt+del and by pressing it, will ask for user name and password. after entering the user name and password for login only the desktop will come and nothing else, such as icons, taskbar, etc.try to recover by pressing F8 to go to safe mode or even restoring to last known good configuratio but there is no such optioin availabe by this tab.pleas let me know how to solve this problem

After logon please press control+alt+del select new task and wirite explorer.exe and see what happens.If this doest not helps please type regedit open registry and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogonon the right side see this key are there Userinit C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,Shell explorer.exeUIHost logonui.exeThankshttp://technetfaqs.wordpress.com

Hi Esmaeilzadeh, Have you tried the Syed’s suggestion? If the issue still persists, please scan your system using antivirus program in Safe Mode. Meanwhile, please press Control + Alt + Del, select New task and run eventvwr. Then, check if there is any related error in the Event Viewer. Regards, Bruce
