Do you have roaming profiles setup? Are you redirecting the user's Desktop folder to a location on the server? Do you get this same issue if you login to another PC with the same user account that you are logging on to that PC with and vice versa (ie if you login with a different user account do you get the same issue on that PC) ?ChrisMy blog: http://cjwdev.wordpress.com

I can log in to the same(needed) profile through other computers on the server...but on this computer whatever profile i log in to its all the same it just changes the user name... but i don't get the desktop nor the documents and i still can't edit anything on the desktop it self...when i log in i can see the profile and all the documents on disk w:(which is my server) like on the other computers

So yes I do use roaming profiles and i'm redirecting the desktop to a location on the server. And also a small (big ) correction... now whatever computer I use to log in to the "zion1" profile(it's the profile in question) It won't load the desktop and I can't edit the desktop like I said before... I created a new profile on the serverit was working fine until I tried copying the files from "zion1" and then the desktop went blank again. I hope I explained myself a bit better this timeThanks for the help!

If I understand your situationcorrectly then I would say check the permissions (NTFS and also share if applicable) on the folder where this "zion1" desktop is being redirected to and ensure that the "zion1" user has got at least Modify permission (might even need Full Control and ownership but wouldn't have thought so)My blog: http://cjwdev.wordpress.com

Hello Doggy,In addition to Chris's suggestion, please let us knowyourproblematic client OS version. It seems you got a temporary profile issue on the client. Have you checked the following KB?A temporary profile is loaded after you log on to a Windows Vista-based systemhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/947242You may receive an unrestricted temporary profile when you log on to a Windows XP-based client computer without a network connection to the domainhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/893243Best regards,Wilson JiaThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
