can't get in to Azure Mgmt in web or PS

From @dtotheoh via Twitter:

can't get in to Azure Mgmt in web or PS "A security token validation error occurred for the received JWT token."(PS)

I'm not using VS to access Azure, this is directly from PowerShell, accessing from web gives me issueType=StsCertificate in URL

Hello,

1. When you say, you cannot get to Azure, do you get this error when signing into management portal or when try to deploy services from management portal or Powershell?
2. What is the exact error message you get when using the browser?

I suggest that you clear the browser history and the cache from the portal and check if you have the same issue.

Also download the latest version of Powershell and check, you can download the latest version of Powershell from the link below:

Please see images from web mgmt and PowerShell. PS allows me to login but running get-azurevm returns the error. Tried clearing browser cache in Edge and tried Chrome but still get the same issue.

Many thanks for any help,

Dan

Hi Syed,

  1. I cannot access Azure from both PowerShell and management portal. In PowerShell; I can sign-in using add-azureaccount but any subsequent cmdlets result in "AuthenticationFailed: A security token validation error occurred for the received JWT token.".
  2. When accessing the Azure Management portal, I can sign-In but get directed to a page "We are having trouble logging you into the portal", the URL has the following parameter "?issueType=StsCertificate"

I have attempted the following;

  • Reset browser cache (i'm running Edge on Win 10)
  • Accessing from Chrome
  • Updating Windows Azure PowerShell

Please see screenshot from previous post.

Many thanks for your help

Dan

The issue seems to have resolved itself over the weekend. I can now login via web mgmt and PowerShell. I don't shutdown my computer so I assume it was an issue on the Azure side :)?
