bytes sent /sec how to intepreter
Hi everybody, I was trying to interpretate the value counter logs under Network Interface. the Log shows a very high value for the bytes sent /sec and I need to know if there some way to take this value and convert to a "normal" value to put in a report for my manager. the counters has been taken from a windows 2003 server. regards Serba

There are plenty of possibilities: 1. Some vendors have their own tools to monitor server performance and statistics. Look in the server vendor pages or contact server vendor support to get specific information. 2. Nework Monitor can give you short term data (User either NM from Microsoft of free Wireshark) 3. There are free and commertial tools. We use MRTG http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/ List of some known is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_traffic_measurement 4. You can make use of statistics on active network devices Regards Milos
