bug in notepad
Hi! First of all, sorry for posting here. I know it's not the correct forum, but the truth is that I couldn't find a place within MS site to report this bug. Please let me know if you know where I can report this... Now, the bug. Try the following (I've tryed in WinXP, Win2000 and Win2003). 1. Create aempty TXT file anywhere (right-click and select new TXT file) 2. Now, open it with notepad, and write the following text "OM_fulfilment_script.vbs ola adeus" (without the quotes, and no Enter in the end) 3. Save and Close 4. Now open it with notepad. What do you see? I've tryed in Dutch, English, German and Portuguese computers, with different locales, and the result is always the same ! The file gets saved in Unicode, and "squares" open in place of the text... If you open it in Wordpad, you'll see the correct contents of the file... If you change just one character in the string, you don't get the problem... Or if you add extra lines... Just this combination has this effect... It's like 1 in 10^21394294 !!!! Well, I just want to share thiswith MS... Maybe in next version of notepad this will be fixed and I will no longer have the "fear" of notepad "modifying" the contents of my files... Regards, Hugo
