backups/DR in windows environment
Can I ask for someone not very tech savvy in terms of backups, DR (disaster recovery), how the two areas interlink, and how a large backup could affect DR. Say for example you were using ntbackup, and the file server data was taking 8 hours to backup, would this be scheduled to run during the evening, i.e. non working hours so the update and change isn’t an issue? Is there any issue whereby larger backup jobs i.e. those that took voer a day could affect DR, if something happened? Or is there always a window of time where you can lose data. And what things, except for size, can affect the speed the backup process takes? I can’t quite grasp how large backups could affect DR, in a windows environment, so please enlighten me.
