adding client computer to a server
Hi, All computers in my company are connected to windows server and they have McAfee running automatically there. When I added a new client computer to the system McAfee is not running in the new system. I have another problem in the client computer I have added too. When I click time and date setting in the new computer I receive an error message you do not have enough privilege to change system setting". I cannot log on to another system with same username and password and change the setting, but in new system I cannot. I already have admin username and password. Thank you in advance for your help. Hello Hossein,If you are in the domain environment, make sure the new computer has been added properly to the domain. For McAfee it depends how you install them on your machines. Are you the system administrator? If not please check with the systems admin to see if McAfee is being obtained from a server or how it get installed.Isaac Oben MCITP:EA, MCSE

Hello IsaacThanks for your reply. The problem is that our system admin is not available for a month and I need this computer to work. I have added the new computer to domain myself and when I check from windows server it has the same privilages as other clients. I beleive the computer has been added properly to the domain. ThanksHossein

Hi Hossein,According to your desciption, I understand you want to change the computer system timefrom a normal domain user. If you have misunderstood you, please do not hesitate to let me know.As far as I know, you can simplyuse your admin user account to login the new computer. Click start and run "secpol.msc", then navigate to Local policies | User Rights assignment, in the right panel, add the new computer user account into the "Change the system time". After that, the user should be able to change the new computer's systemtime.Best Regards,Wilson JiaThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
