adding 2008 r2 to 2003 r2 domain
Hi all
I currently have a 2003 r2 domain with 2 DCs. They are both Dell poweredge "2600 backup, 840 primary".
Yesterday I received a new Dell poweredge T310, with 2008 r2. I plan to add the new one to the domain and make it the PDC. I have looked at articles about how to prepair and promote the new server.
I am not in a hurry to complete this all but I do want to do it in a timly many. I wanted to ask if anyone knows of any detailed articles that I can look at to guide me through the process just to make sure I am doing it all correct.
Thanks

One of the first steps is to prepare the forest and your domain(s) for the introduction of 2008 R2 DCs. Here is some information regarding the schema preparation:

Will it affect the network speed much if I am to do this during work hours. I have done this when adding a new 2003 DC to the domain and it did not effect the network at all. Will it be the same when I am going to 2008?
