add memory in windows 2003
Good morning to all, I have a problem with a Windows 2003 Ent. R2 (DSP package) server with 8GB RAM. I try to add +8GB of RAM and when it start i have a lot of issues in my environment.. For example i can not open my services, i cannot change anything in my desktop, i have many strange errors. When i remove the new RAM, all seems ok. I though that maybe is a RAM issue. I buy a new pair of memory but the same... Is there any problem when you change hardware to a Windows 2003 Ent. DSP package? Thanks.

I agree with Mahyar. You should turn on the PAE switch. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283037

Hi, I recommend that you replace the original 8GB’s memory with the new bought 8GB memory to check whether have the same issue. By the way, please provide the details about the errors you encountered. In addition, what did you mean by DSP package? Best Regards, Vincent Hu
