Hi ,
in short
a) you have to understand the relatino between dns and AD
b) AD integrated with DNS provides better search abilities, search for dc locations , replication
c) saving zone in database rather than in text file
for a single site, smaller network i do not bother much if my zone is standalone or ad integrated , but if my site spans geographical location , then this makes wider sense, you will eliminate client logon delays.
you have to read more on sites and subnets to understand how the dns play vital role .
