a very newbie question
i just got hired as the app developer for a local business. after my first day, they dropped something in my lap. we have windows server 2003 that until now was being used simply as an overpowered standalone workstation. I need to figure out how to configure it so that when people logon to their workstations in the office, they logon to their work group and have access to the appropriate shares and what not. I am a developer, not network. Someone please help!

Hello,if that server is in the same workgroup as the users machines and NOT a domain member or domain controller, configure the needed shares on the server, set the share and NTFS permissionsand create for each user that should access the server/share a local user account, that is the same as on the user workstations.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
