Wireless connection not failing back to Computer Auth if User Auth is not available

Hello,

We have got Wireless configured with RADIUS. Our wireless policy is pushed out via GP with the Authentication type set to Computer or User Auth.

When the laptop turns on it successfully connects via Computer Auth. If I log on as a user (which has been premitted access via NPS) they successfully connect to the wireless.

If I log on as a Local User (not a domain user) I am unable to connect to the wireless. I suspect the machine is failing on User Auth (which would be expected because a local user is logged on) but not failing over to Computer Auth.

If I change the authentication policy to Computer only, it obviously works fine.

Is this by design? Or should it be failing back to Computer Auth, when User Auth fails?

Thanks

Peter

Hi,

If computer authentication is successful, a subsequent user logon results in a re-authentication with user credentials. The user logon has to complete in 60 seconds or the existing network connectivity is terminated. The user credentials are used for subsequent authentication or re-authentication. Computer authentication is not attempted again until the user logs off the computer.
