Windows server open tcp port 1059
I have a windows 2003 server i run to host vpn connections.
I scanned it and found tcp/1059 open (classically described as IBM AIX Network Installation Manager or nimreg).
I do not know of any reason for this port being open. Can someone explain what the port is used for?

Ya. I googled the same thing, "I scanned it and found tcp/1059 open (classically described as IBM AIX Network Installation Manager or nimreg)."
I didn't install anything IBM that didn't come natively in Windows Server, "I do not know of any reason for this port being open."
Can someone explain what Microsoft did to activate the service on this port?
I setup a second server and activated the same services and do not find this port active.
NOTE: neither netstat -o nor netstat -b reveil any processes attached to this port

I don't know what you performed exactly so that this ports will be opened.
Just block it.
