Windows server 2008 print service
Good Afternoon
I wonder if when you add a printer on a server running
Windows Server 2008 must increase virtual
memory or cache any since
I are having problems when sending
files to print with a weight of 13
MB and up the printer no longer processing
remains nothing but printing
does not send anything, but if I
set up peer to peer directly sends
the printer prints without any problem.
We need to apply some parameter or start
a service for heavy files?????

No, a too cheap printer usually that mean or a bad print driver.
They make host based printer. Thus they cut down the cost by removing the formatter board. The driver on the peer make the formatting, but such printer are not suitable to be shared, because they require a lot more permission than a usual driver need.
If lucky, a laserjet 4's driver could fit. In exemple I often use a laserjet 4 driver on hp 1020 printer, and that seem to do the trick. (even the hp universal does not work). To give another exemple, on a lexmark e212 host based I did the laserjet
4's trick and that worked.
nb, You might wonder why laserjet4, it's because it's almsot one of the first driver to be standardized, a lot of compagny used that standard to start up with.
