Windows server 2008 frequent restart.
We have installed a window 2008 server in a virtual machine, its having 28 days for activation but its restarting once / twice in a day with out any error. Server configurations are fine for the running process, so reason for the restart is not config issue. even we have 28 days of licence why the machine is restarting itself. plz assist

Hiya, There should be some information in the event log on the server which tells you why its restarting. Or some indication that it was a unexpected restart?

To find the root cause of the problem you should analyze the memory dump file. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263 http://knowing-itech.blogspot.com/2011/08/analyze-memory-dump-file-using.htmlhttp://www.arabitpro.com

Hello, Do you see any dump files in C:\Windows folder? If yes, to troubleshoot this kind of crash issue, we need to debug the dump files. A suggestion would be to contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/. If you are outside the US please see Microsoft Worldwide Home for regional support phone numbers. http://www.microsoft.com/worldwide/ Thanks Zhang
