Windows server 2008 R2 freeze after 1~2 day
Dear Support, I have one problem that one of my windows server 2008 R2 freeze 1~2 day after power on. We have no choce to hard restart the server to use consloe. Cannot see any system error log except unexpected shutdown. At that time all share folder, DNS, AD and ACCPAC ( Application ) seems like working fine. Ping also respond. But, console freeze ( mouse can move ) and RDP aslo not working. Windows backup and Accpac backup fail. I saw a fix (KB2265716) but not applicable on that server. Is there any way to identify the problem ? Server Spec: CPU : Intel Xeon E5620 x 2 Porcessors RAM : 8.0 GB Server Role, DC, DNS, DHCP, FILE Installed Application Symantec Endpoint, ACCPAC Hardware HP Proliant DL360 G7 Thanks,

Hello, if the machine freeze complete and nothing works anymore it sounds for me like hardware related problems. Do you use the latest updates and SmartStart drivers from HP: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=344318&lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=345557&taskId=135 The hotfix is included in SP1 so that's the reason it won't apply.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hello, possible that you have driver problems. Please start by updating all drivers that you have and if the problem persists then I recommend contacting HP Technical Support to check that there is no hardware problems. Also, make sure that you have at least one DC / DNS / GC server to ensure high-availability of AD and DNS services and also you can use 50 / 50 DHCP rule to ensure the same thing for DHCP. Thanks for reply, Sorry for my poor english. Its Just console hang, DNS service and file server are still working, I can access share folder. Just now chat with HP Technical support and they told that If HW problem, I can't access any resourse of server. So, should I repair server or uninstall/reinstall SP1 ? Update. I can move the mouse and can click and type on run, but did't appear anything, Mouse showing still busy icon, So, this time console is not hang, but not working any things. ctrl+alt+del also not working.

Hello, did this occur after you installed the latest updates including KB 2570947? I'm experiencing similar problems. See: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverPN/thread/e4eb354e-5369-4e81-b854-d29092c4fe4d Greets Stephan

SP1 has some fixes for this problem. Didn't help me however. Last night I installed hotfix KB2575077. About 15 hours and we're still up. We'll see how it goes this weekend.

Hi, Just monitor the CPU and RAM utilization in the server, I guess Some/Application memory leak in your server. first find out which application/system causing this issue, then you will get some clue to fix this issue :) Try to upgrade the latest PSP may resolve this kind of issue sometime :) Regards, Sridharan.
