Windows server 2008 R2 Roles Erroe
Last week we started have connectivity issues with our server. It is not used for authentication on our network at this time. Users use a web portal to access an application. When we checked the Roles we received the following error message Unexpected error refreshing server manager: The remote procedure call failed. Exception from HResult:0x800706BE. We have uninstalled our anti-virus. Reconfigured on NIC's and nothing has helped. We have attempted on numerous occasions to run Windows Updates, but they will not run. We have tried the Windows Update Stand Alone package with no success. We have tried the resolution using power shell but received error messages there also. We are attempting to fix this with out having to blow the server away and start over.

It's a Windows Update error. You've installed an update and it's failed causing this issue. I've had it once before and it was very hard to fix. Can you list the recent updates you've installed and try and find the one that's failed?
