Windows server 2003 R2 standard Edition with SP2 (32bit) - services.exe consuming lot of memory
Hi, I am facing some issue in Windows server 2003 R2 standard Edition with SP2 (32bit) - services.exe consuming lot of memory. (around 320mb). After stopping the trend micro antivirus services it reduced down to 160mb. Any other possiblilities to still reduce the memory usage. Thanks in advance

Consult Trend Micro support or forum how to exclude some files from AV inspection. community.trendmicro.com esupport.trendmicro.com You can do a detailed analysis with Process Monitor (Sysinternals) to find detailes. Regards Milos

Hello, Services.exe is used to start / stop services. As services.exe s causing high consumption of your RAM then it should be one of the services that is running under it which is causing that. You already mentioned that Trend Micro antivirus was one of the causes so it will be better to contact Trend Technical Support for assistance. Please also run msconfig and disable all startup items / services except Microsoft ones. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
