I have received the notice that my Windows Vista is not genuine and talked to the Windows help desk to try to fix the problem. Naturally, they couldn't help me and I am very distressed. My husband and I bought this machine with Windows Vista 7 on it and promptly updated it with Ultimate with SP 1. My husband was the main user on the machine until he passed away 4 years ago. I now use the machine and this new development has me very distressed. I am elderly, 83 to be exact, on a fixed income, and don't do anything big on the machine and have no need or desire to update to another version of Windows. Plus, I can't really afford to do it. I think that for occasions of this kind, we should be able to get the 'not Genuine' tag removed so I can continue to use the machine for my minimal purposes. Who knows how much longer I will be able to use the computer at all, so why spend a bunch of money I don't now have for something new, which I will have to learn how to use? Just doesn't make sense to me.
You probably can't help me at all so thank you for letting me vent. Monamae.
