Launch the Server Manager snap-in and click on the root folder in thenavigation pane. Under the Server Summary click Configure IE ESC (part of the Security Information section). You will be prompted with the option of enabling/disabling Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration.Regards,Salvador Manaois III MCSE MCSA CEH MCITP | Enterprise/Server Admin Bytes & Badz : http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com

Unless I'm missing something, this doesn't answer the original question. The original question was, "how do you disable IE ESC in VISTA?" Your link answers the question, "How do you disable IE ESC in Windows 2008, 2003?" Those aren't the same. Can you try again, please? I'm having a heck of a problem with security on this pile of an OS.

Additionally, there's no Server Manager (unless I've gone blind) for Vista, so that route doesn't help either.

I'm having a heck of a problem with security on this pile of an OS. For starters there is no such thing as IE ESC in Vista, that is a Windows Server only feature. Secondly, this forum is for Windows Server related issues, not Windows Vista.
