Windows Update shows no updates available
This is really meant to be a continuation of
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsserver2008r2general/thread/224f9210-b855-4c0c-a02c-a2026d5edfb0, but it appears locked so I can not add to that discussion.
Have the same symptoms (fresh build - W2K8 R2 Enterprise on two seperate boxes), except I have not been able to identify and error code.. I have taken each of the steps outline in the referenced thread (i.e. delete download, then delete software distribution,
then restart in via msconfig).
Has this symptom been addressed / fixed anywhere? I did not see anywhere in related articles where it had. I have an
MPSReports.cab file available if this is of help.

The 2nd from the bottom download from
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool says it
is not applicable to my W2K8 R2 Enterprise w/ SP1 system. I reference this whole list to show I looked for an appropriate one.
I also searched for an applicable standalone SP2 that I might be able to apply to the system to see if I could force an update that way to end the block.

Hello,
try proceesing like that:
Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow Download and install System Update Readiness tool for your OS: Choose the appropriate one
Reset Windows Update components Disable all security softwares
Once done, check again.
Please also make sure that there is no firewall blocking updates traffic.
If none helped, consider performing an in-place upgrade.
