Windows Update error code 8024402F on newly installed machines only!
Hi,
Since last week I have started to deploy new machines. I have noticed that Windows Update failing with the error code of 8024402F. I have checked my system if something blocking active x but everything looks just fine. Existing client machines and servers
not experiencing this problem.
What I did for troubleshooting or identifying the problem. Previously never had any problem on same master image or the Windows 7 and 2008 R2 DVDs.
Note: The internet connection is direct so no proxy or firewall. Everything full open. No any software or AV installed as it is freshly installed windows. Windows time is synronized!
I have used MS Windows 7 with SP1 and Windows 2008 R2 with SP1 disc to install new seperate machines in test environment.
Result: Did not workJust in case I have re downloaded the Windows 7 and 2008 DVDs from MSDN and reinstalled the machines.
Result: Did not workForu fixes that I have tryed on seperate machines individually (MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.157264546469302755.1.1.Run,
MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.157264546469302755.2.1.Run,
MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run, MicrosoftFixit50123)
Result : Did not workStopped Windows Update service and Deleted SoftwareDistribution folder and had rerun Windows Update Service
Result: Did not workAfter deletion of Software Distribution when I run Windows Update it installed an update for Windows Update closed the windows and reopened automatically. Restarted the machines.
Result: Did not work
Is there any other further suggestion? I believe something changed at the MS side as all new DVDs and previously working multiple images cannot fail same time.

Hi,
I just started following your solutions. Please find the feedback below.
MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.15726460822314037.1.1.Run did not detect any issue to fix.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/e7974a10-61d8-4e50-91a5-33a196d5d643 is not similar to my issue as my domain computers (existing clients and servers) not having any update issue. I have used
same master image/s that I have used to deploy existing client but previously working master images (multiple different images) not able to get updates and giving same error. I would like to remind that I also installed a couple of new machines with the Windows
7 DVD without using any other software. If I would have instable internet connection domain clients also would not able to get updates. I have 2 different ADSL connection from 2 different provider. I have tested the clients with both internet connection seperately
but did not help.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/e7974a10-61d8-4e50-91a5-33a196d5d643 . I have run the commands
sfc /scannow RESULT: (Windows Resource Protectcion did not find any integrity violations) and have downloaded 340MB KB947821 file and have installed it but did not help.MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.15726460822314037.5.1.Run did not find any problem. Note: Actually these fixes are the same!!! If you download the file from the same browser a couple of times, everytime higlighted number increasing by 1!!
MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.15726460822314037.5.1.Run Oh my goodness what a waste of time!!As I mentioned before I also trying to update on freshly installed pc. Absolutely nothing has been installed. I also trying to install a Brand New Dell poweredge R610 with Windows 2008 R2 with SP1 at the moment and having same issue. I would like to remind
that I have 2 different internet connections from 2 different internet service provider. By passed proxy and firewall with a direct connection.
