Windows Small Business Server 2008 crashed
Hi, When it crash, did you see something on the scrren ? Is there any BSOD or whatever ? Both hard disk are bad now ? Can you plug them in a disk reader to explore contents ? (may be, cause you are scanning for virus...) If so, can you check for dump file about your crash ? Your new BSOD is certainly due to new hardware. Did you specify any parameter to chkdsk such as /F /R You also can try the following : fixboot and fixmbrhttp://blog.simaju.fr - Partage de connaissances et retour d'expriences.

We have a small business server 2008. Yesterday 6/13/2011 it crashed. When I tried to boot using CD it will not come. After further research I thought the hard drive went bad. I bought a new hard drive and restored everything from windows backup (full os restore). System came up once and crashed again and then started doing the same with new hard driver. At this point I thought the server computer went bad so I decided to give a try with an existing computer. I was able to boot new computer using CD and able to restore the back up again to new hard drive. When I tried to boot using new hard drive it shows blue screen with STOP: 0x0000007B. I did some research online and going through steps. I am scanning the hard drive for viruses now. It is not complete yet. I ran CHKDSK it came fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. if you need more info please let me know. Thanks again.

Bug Check Code 0x7B: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff559218(v=VS.85).aspx This bug check indicates that the Microsoft Windows operating system has lost access to the system partition during startup. Try resolutions mentioned in the article I gave and check your cables. If this does not help, I suspect that there is a hardware problem with your disk. In this case, you have to contact your manufacturer Technical Support. You can also contact Microsoft CSS. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. Hi, I would like to suggest you update the BIOS and the hardware drivers first. You may also analyze them with Debugging Tools by yourself. You can install it and it’s Symbol Packages from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/Devtools/Debugging/default.mspx WinDbg will tell you the possible cause. For more information, please read Microsoft KB article below: How to read the small memory dump files that Windows creates for debugging http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263 If no clue can be found, you may contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request. To troubleshoot this kind of kernel crash issue, we need to debug the crashed system dump. Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the forum. Please be advised that contacting phone support will be a charged call. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;OfferProPhone#faq607 Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
