Windows Sever events
Hello, I'm new to Windows Server 2008 and it's event logging capabilities. (I'm more familiar with *nix based hosts) I can see events being logged in the Event Viewer. I read about the eventcreate command and it seems I need some background info to generate the events I need. For example, I'd like to create an event every time a memory stick is plugged into the machine or a cd is inserted into the CD/DVD drive. Is there a resource that explains events in Windows server? I don't want to recreate events that might already be available or spend most of my time looking for the program that is responsible for a particular event. Thanks Richard
