Windows Service recovery
I have tried using service recovery options in windows 2003. SQL Server service, in automatic mode, does not start on windows startup. When i configured recovery, it seems that windows does not retry starting the service, any help please?

This forum is for Windows Server 2008, which probably is why you don't get any answers... But: If your SQL Server service doesn't start on windows startup even though it's in automatic mode you should check the event viewer for any messages. If it doesn't start there's probably a problem with the service account. Once it's started and for example crashes it'll be restarted.

Also, realize that the "recovery" process is not actually watching the service state but rather the event logs for service state events. This fact threw me for a loop.Hilde
