Windows Server CALs for Tivoli/Unicenter
Enterprise Management Systems like Unicenter or Tivoli have a "client" service running on PCs and a "server" which collects data from the clients for SNMP reporting, asset management, enterprise antivirus, etc. I have learnt that if users are not required
to be authenticated by Windows (e.g. IUSR_xxxx), CALs are not required.
My question is, does each of these client PCs running a EMS client need a CAL? There is no other transaction/application that the clients execute on the Tivoli/Unicenter Server running on Windows Server.

I have got a telephonic reply from MS Marketing personnel which seems illogical. Request an MVP to please clear this doubt on this forum.

Sorry to bug you again, but could you point me to a forum on licensing? Customer Service gives me an illogical answer. It is safest and in the best interests of the marketig guy to tell me to buy licenses for each device and its dog and the fleas on the
dog.
