Windows Server 2012 r2 - Windows Update - DISM Error 14098

I have one server that has been giving me issues installing Windows Update lately.  I try to run the following commands and they fail, as well as all new updates fail, and I cannot remove old updates...:

sfc /scannow

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

When I run dism I now return Error 14098 (The component store has been corrupted.)

I have also tried to run dism /online/cleanup-image /restorehealth /source:d:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess.

Please let me know what you need from me to help get this resolved!

Hi,

If it is a newly happened problem, you may try to restore the server with previous backup(if any), it would be a simple and quick recover way.

Or, you may provide me the error message of failed update installation/uninstallation. And the CBS.log with running DISM(blog mentioned in arnavsharmas reply).

Best Regards,
Eve Wang
