Windows Server 2008 Standard - IP Issue
Hello experts, I installed Windows Server 2008 Standard and try to assign a IP Address(10.1.1.88). It is IP version 4 and I have a default gateway (10.1.0.1), DNS (Preferred: 10.1.0.252, Alternate: 10.1.0.60). After successful assigning I click ok button and close the window. Again when I come to IP V4 Properties The IP Address I assigned (10.1.1.88) has gone and instead of that the IP Address 0.0.0.0 is there. If I click on Advanced.. button I can see that the IP Address (10.1.1.88) has gone to second level and 0.0.0.0 has come to first level of IP Addresses section. Anyone knows the answer? Please let me know.a learner

Hello,do you use SP2 and latest patches and especially the latest NIC drivers from yourhardware vendor?Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Thanks for the consideration. I am not using SP2 and the NIC drivers are new as they arrive with the manufacturer of the harware. and I am still not sure why it is happening... Still the problem exists but it is able to connect to the server through remote desktop connnection and there it shows the real IP (not 0.0.0.0). So can u imagine what would be the problem?a learner
