Windows Server 2008 R2 crashing consistently
According to the description, we find it seems to be system crash issue and we need to analyze the crash dump file to narrow down the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, it is not effective for us to debug the crash dump file here in the forum. Therefore, I would like to suggest that you contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;OfferProPhone#faq607 Hope the issue will be resolved soon. http://www.virmansec.com/blogs/skhairuddin

I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 within VirtualBox 4.1.0. I'm using this environment as a lab for use with SQL Server 2008 R2--in particular, SQL Server Analysis Services activities. Excel 2010 is also installed in this environment. Windows Update reveals that everything is up to date. I'm using SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services extensively in this environment--and that's working very well. I created numerous cubes and can browse them without difficulty within the SQL Server Analysis Services development environment; i.e., BIDS. When I attempt to access the cubes from within Excel 2010 (Data > From Other Sources > From Analysis Services > (local) server, Use Windows Authentication) and select the values, rows, and columns to display in the resulting pivot table, however, Windows immediately crashes. During re-start, I get the standard 'Windows did not shut down properly' message. Upon start up, a 'Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown' dialog appears. 'View problem details' displays (with slight variation in the filenames each time): Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.272.7 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 50 BCP1: FFFFF901C1B40768 BCP2: 0000000000000000 BCP3: FFFFF9600084CF40 BCP4: 0000000000000005 OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 272_3 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\083111-20343-01.dmp C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-416453-0.sysdata.xml I've perused the .XML files but didn't notice anything particularly helpful. When I press 'Check for solution' it says it's checking for a solution to the problem; after about 30 seconds, however, the dialog disappears without any mention of the results. There are no warnings in the System Event Log; however, there are two generic errors: Log Name: System Source: EventLog Event ID: 6008 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: VS_W2K8_01 Description: The previous system shutdown at 5:05:41 PM on ?8/?31/?2011 was unexpected. Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power Event ID: 41 Task Category: (63) Level: Critical Keywords: (2) User: SYSTEM Computer: VS_W2K8_01 Description: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. (I didn't include the Event Xml for either entry.) Windows crashes consistently whenever I perform the above-mentioned steps--regardless of whether there are any other applications open. Without anything more to go on, I'm not sure where to begin to try to resolve this problem. Any recommendations on how to proceed?

If you want to do-it-yourself then you can get the tools here to help you read the mini dmp file. Otherwise you should start a support case with Microsoft product support. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg463012 Regards, Dave Patrick .... As Dave said, crash issue needs to collect data for analysis which is difficult to discuss on forum. Thus it is recommanded to connact support team to create a case.TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tnmff@microsoft.com.
