I am building a new file server on Windows Server Standard 2008 R2 SP1 English Language version. Some of our employees are Japanese and they type their subfolder names in Japanese often and the title/contents of their Office documents are typed in Japanese. I've been trying to download the language pack for Japanese on an English language server. I can get the en-US one and the jp-JP one but not the en-JP one. The help on the system says I can also get it via update but when we run Windows update we don't get any optional language files. The hardware is failing on the old file server and I'm running out of time. What do I have to do to support my Japanese users on this file server? Any help appreciated.

That one is the jp-jp one. I need the one for en-JP. There ought to be some place where from a web page I can read, i.e., written in English, I can download the Japanese character set as an addition to my enlish language server. The one I started to download on the this page was for windows 6.1 x64. IS there just not one for x64 maybe?

I should say that I did try the jp-jp one but I would execute the file and it would briefly show the lp.cab file then it would remove the file. I suspect that is because the server is not a JApanese language server.
