Windows Server 2008 R2 Licensing
I have a single-server Windows 2008 R2 domain with 10 Windows 7 64-bit computers. The server came with 5 "CALs". I need 5 more to allow the additional workstation computers access to server resources. Only using AD and DNS on server with one directory
being shared. I have read the documentation available here, and am still confused about how to "activate" the client access licenses. This is a small office with no remote connectivity. The workstations came with Windows 7 pre-loaded. Don't need "deployment"
or RDS or VM or any of that. Just real simple "manual" LAN.

In Windows 2008 R2 you do not activate CAL's. You purchase them and keep in a safe place :). Microsoft trusts you that you will buy required number of licenses. In Windows 2008 R2 you only need to install Remote Desktop Licenses, but that is not your case. With kind regards
