Windows Server 2008 R2 Build 7600 - This Copy of Windows is not genuine
Hi,
I've got the Windows not genuine notification on the bottom right of my desktop.
How can I resolve this please before anything happens?
It's a Hyper-V Virtual machine running Windows Server 2008 R2 build 7600... of which I use to run SQl Server 2008 for several business applications
thanks

How much time do I have left to do this?
I'm sure I have another product key somewhere that I can use

Worst case I'd say 3x30 days, using the slmgr -rearm command.
You can also use the slmgr to change the product key.

From the previous link:
Until you correct the issue, you'll receive periodic reminders that Windows is not genuine. In addition, to more clearly display these messages, your desktop might turn black. You can reset it, but every 60 minutes, it will return to black until the issue
is resolved.
Regardless of genuine status, Windows will still be able to get critical security updates. However, access to optional updates or benefits available exclusively to genuine Windows customers, such as Microsoft Security Essentials, might be restricted.

I made a mistake and changed the Product Key of the Host machine instead of the Hyper-V VM !! now I can't recall what the product key was for the host machine and don't have the key information. I only have the installation DVD and some Client Access License
certificates. What can I do to resolve?

Hi Ronnie,
Thanks for posting.
You can try to use “slmgr /ato” to active the system again to see whether you get the same notification at the bottom of the screen.
Also, you can reset your activation by performing the following:
1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in:
slui.exe 4
2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Select your Country.
4. Follow the instructions for phone activation.
5. Once completed, restart your computer.
If you have any concerns regarding the missing product key, please contact either the license supplier or Microsoft at:

Thanks
