Windows Server 2008 R2
I must upgrade my SWIFT Alliance Access application very soon. One of the requirements is that the server be upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2 on a 64-bit platform. My domain controller is Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition. Is it required to upgrade the Domain Controller to Windows Server 2008 when I deploy the new Server? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, If the server which the SWIFT Alliance Access application installed is not the domain controller, there is no need to upgrade your domain controller to Windows Server 2008. Best regards, Vincent Hu

Hello, you can only upgrade a system that is 64bit as the Windows server 2008 R2, otherwise a reinstall is required.Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
