Windows Server 2008 Driver Compatibility ?
Does anyone know what rules determine Server 2008 driver compatibility ?It has been my experience that some Windows XP/Server 2003 drivers work properly on Server 2008, but many are not usable. This appears to be especially true in regard to sound converter drivers.Similarly, many, but not all, Vista drivers work with Server 2008. Is there a reason for incompatibility with Vista other than that the installer may not recognize Server 2008 ?Finally, does anyone know the specific information that a driver installer uses to determine the name of the operating system. I do know that some just look for a name and others use a name plus version numbers. Some installer scripts still just look for the generic "Windows NT".Thank you very much.
