Windows Server 2008 Bootable DVD?
If I put the DVD in my drive and reboot it is not a bootable DVD.
Did I do something wrong or do I need to install over a current server?

It seems you've downloaded the Server 2008 from Microsoft Website (not ordered the DVD), so it might you got an error or corruption on the DVD image. Try to burn it to another DVD or re-download the image again.
Make sure that your BIOS settings are set to boot from CD/DVD.
I downloaded it, burned it, and it boots so normal.
Good luck

I had a similar problem.
My problem was that the software I was using was not making an iso boot disk but rather just copying the information which is not the some thing.
1) make sure you are using software that makes a bootable image
2) make sure your dvd drive is set as a boot (I have two drives a dvd rw and a cdrom) mine was set to boot from the cdrom, i changed the boot configuration so that the dvdrom is booted first if there is a bootable disk in the drive
3) If you believe everything is in order but still can't boot, use one of your other boot disk that you are sure works prooperly and try to boot if it works then the process is the boot disk if it doesn't then maybe its the boot order.
I hopes this helps

I also had a similar problem, but in my case the type of media was the cause. If you burned a DVD+R that may be it. Make sure you're burning a DVD-R.
