Windows Server 2008 Audio Problem

I had the same problem. Make sure the "Windows Audio" Service is running. Also, that service has some dependencies. (Look at properties of service, then click tab labeled "Dependencies" to see requirements" "Make sure the dependency Services are running also. This will solve your problem... mikedanyc@gmail.com
