Windows Server 2008 Activation Failure
I've recently installed Windows Server 2008 for the first time. This particular instance is meant to be a replacement for one of our aging Windows Server 2003 Domain Controllers.I've been getting an error message that indicates that activation has failed. The first solution was to run the command "slmgr -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx" to install the product key. However, I'm now getting a message that reads:Error: 0xC00CE509Description: Required white space was missingI've searched TechNet for the error code, but didn't find anything relevant to Windows Server 2008 activation.Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance.

Found the answer!Seems my firewall was getting in the way. Once I made sure I could reach the Internet I ran the "slmgr -ato" command - success!

Hi Snow,
Glad to hear the activation was success.
The activation needs internet connection. If you need any assistance during activation in the future, please call the telephone number displayed on the activation screen to activate Windows Server 2008. This process is free of charge.
