Hello, Yes, you can have both W2K3 and W2K8 domain controllers in the same forest. Can you explain a little more what you need to achieve? If you need to add another (new) w2k8 domain controller in your current w2k3 structure, you will first need to upgrade the schema and prepare the domain by running adprep /forestprep and adprep /domainprep More guidance here http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2008/11/11/so-you-want-to-upgrade-to-windows-2008-domain-controllers-adprep.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731728(WS.10).aspxIsaac Oben MCITP:EA, MCSE

Hi - You mention *another* domain controller - is the W2003 server a domain controller already? Where are your company's files located now? Is the W2008 box to be dedicated for terminal services? (it should be....). You don't need a W2008 domain controller just because you have a W2008 TS box. But I believe you will need to install the W2008 TS CALs on the W2008 box itself.Lanwench ** Do not fold, spindle or mutilate. Fill in the box completely and erase any stray marks. Use only a #2 pencil.
