Windows Server 2003 The following character string is too long:
I was trying to enter this thread in the Windows Server 2003 forum but was unable to locate any. I am trying to run a bat file, and I keep getting the error "The following character string is too long:" However, I was informed that the command line limit for Windows XP and later is 8041 characters. This bat file has a total of 349 characters.I have had longer bat files of this nature run on Windows2000 server with no problem. That leads me to wonder, is there a setting in Windows Server 2003 that allows the administrator to set the limit for Command line strings? If so what is its default setting. Otherwise I have no other explanation for this behavior.
