Windows Server 2003 4GB RAM Limit
I've just bought an HP DL360 G6 server which came with 6GB of RAM. I'm going to be installing Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition 32Bit on this server because I don't have a license for anything else. I understand that this version of Windows has a physical memory limit of 4GB which won't be an issue for this particular machine. How do I deal with the fact that I've got more RAM in the server than Windows 2003 can deal with before installing the Operating System? Do I need to takeone of the 2GB RDIMMS out of the server?Kind regards.

Hi, No, normally you do not need to remove 2GB RAM. After the installation, only 4GB RAM can be recognized and used although you have 6GB RAM installed. Tim Quan - MSFT
