Windows Product Activation
WHen trying to logon to Windows server 2003, I receive the following message: A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0x80070002. When I hit OK on the error message it brings
me back to the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen

THe cryptography key is not in the registry.

THis is on a server that has been up and running for several years. Thewre have been no updates installed recently so that can't be the cause of the issue.

Hello,
THe most common reason we see this is from drive lettering changing, what happens is that the cannot load the cryptography files which then causes a cascading failure in not being able to decrypt the activation information. This can be the default
crypto or the changed one mentioned in the article.
