Windows Performance Monitor
I'm trying to get data/time for disk reads/writes on my server. I can monitor disk writes/sec for each disk, as well as disk reads/sec. I see this data in realtime. I'd like to capture this data over time instead. So I can get a daily average, for example.Blake

You should use a counter log. Each performance object provides performance counters that represent data about specific aspects of a system or server.Counter logs define what data is stored in the log fileSee here how to configure a counter log:Create a counter logCertifications: MCSA 2003 MCSE 2003

That link says to click 'Counter Logs'. There is no such option under 2008.I apologize for being dense.

In Windows Server 2008 it's called a Data Collector Set.See here how to configure that (Scenario 3)Performance and Reliability Monitoring Step-by-Step Guide for Windows Server 2008Certifications: MCSA 2003 MCSE 2003
