Windows Firewall changes profiles when Internet connection is down and users can't access file shares on the server
I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 file server in a building that supports about 30 users in a rural location. When the building's Internet connection is down, the Windows Firewall switches from the domain profile to the public profile. When this
happens, users cannot access the shares on the server. How do I keep Windows Server from switching profiles when the WAN connection is down?Kevin

Thanks for the post but it is an unrelated issue. Their issue was caused by a network card teaming misconfiguration. I'm not using network teaming. My domain controller changes network profiles from domain to private when the WAN goes
down. I need to keep this from happening.Kevin

I have applied the patch. I will test it over the weekend when I can afford an outage to my WAN connection and update this post with the findings.
Thanks Annie GuKevin
