Windows Explorer slow file access after server migration
An old NT4 file server/PDC wasdemotedand a new Windows 2003 PDCserver was put into placesome time ago. The old server was kepton the network for a while and then was taken offline. Now it seems that any workstation which was present in the office at the time when the NT4 server was up is experiencing a windows explorer problem. Any file, no matter the parent application, takes about 1 minute or longer to open whenthe file isdouble clicked in Windows Explorer. The only solution to date has been to open the files directly from the parent program, which takes 1 to 2 seconds , but is also not what users are used to doing. If anyone has had a similar problem and can suggest a solution, please reply.

Figured out the problem. Had to disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on all affected computers.
