Windows Domain - Time Service - NTP
I have configured one of my 3 domain controllers, the PDC emulator) to be an authoritative time server based on microsoft article. In the event log on some computers it says it is syncing the time with one of the DC's correctly, but if I do net time /querysntp it says it pointing to time.windows.com. If it is syncing with the DC, why does it say time.windows.com? On some member servers I'll receive an error message saying that there is an authentication error on the DC and the time at the primary domain controller is different than the backup domain controller or member server by too large an amount. When I check the time/date/time zone they are exact. Why do I get these messages? Should I have a logon script that sets the NTP server? ex. net time /domain:domainname /set /yes? If so, why doesn't it do it automatically?
