Hi, I'm trying to get WDS up and running to deploy Windows 7. Everything is working great, except it keeps overwriting existing copmuter accounts in the AD. The DC is runnign SBS2003, and the WDS server is running 2008 standard. My naming string is ALLIED%02#. The last 2 computers that I installed come up as "ALLIED01" (which already existed in AD) and "ALLIED04" (which also existed). Curiously, we also have defunct computer accounts that haven't been deleted yet named "ALLIED02" and "ALLIED03", but those both got skipped. What's going on?

Hi Dan, Normally it should create new computer accounts in AD instead of using the existing ones. As it used ALLIED01 and ALLIED04, I am afraid that ALLIED01 and ALLIED04 are presaged by the two clients’ GUIDs or MAC addresses. Please check. Tim Quan - MSFT
