Windows Deployment Services
Hi All
I have configured the Windows Deployment Services in 2008 server.I have configured the ADDS,DNS,DHCP roles on this server and created the boot.wim and install.wim images of 2008 in the server.
From the client side if I boot the system in network its booting up through the WDS server
I have tried with vista to create the boot Image and Install Image but now .......
I want to install windows XP using this server.Please tell me a step by step guidence to install windows XP using this WDS 2008 server.
(After the Installation of Windows XP if I wan to install some softwares how to install like Microsoft Office in all client machines..)

You can use the sysprep utility:

Hi,
Here are the rough steps to use WDS to deploy Windows XP:
1.
Install and configure the WDS Server.
2.
Add the default Windows Vista/Server 2008 boot image to WDS.
3.
Create a Capture Boot Image and add it to boot image
4.
Create a reference Windows XP computer (install Windows XP, Office, other applications, and make other changes)
5.
Sysprep the installed Windows XP computer.
6.
PXE boot the reference Windows XP computer into capture image on the boot screen and then capture the image.
7.
Upload the captured image to WDS server.
8.
PXE boot clients to install the system.
