Windows 7 cached domain user account issue after sp1
HI all,
I have a problem, We have 7 users that have domain accounts , they work off of the network and rarely come into the office, They are using Windows 7 x86 Ent.
The can work because they use the cached / offline domain credentials on the local machine.
Recently they came into the office , and upgraded to service pack 1, This was done by using an IT domain account , The users then took there laptops out of the office, without logging to the network whilst in the office
Now they cant seem to login, under their cached / offline domain credentials ? The error message when they try and login is "the server cannot be found"
1 of the users has come back into the office and logged in whilst on the network , and now it works as it should,
Some of the other users live far away from the office , how can I resolve this so that they can login to the off domain profile / Cached profile .
I can get them to login to the IT Account that was last used and remote onto the machines. I assume SP1 has done something to the Registry user profile kind of like the corrupt profile issue ? Has anyone experienced this or know how to resolve
?
Thanks

Did you verify the cached credentials? -

I am not familiar with SP1 issues however; I have listed a few options in the above blog to re-establish cached credentials.

Hi,
You may disable the cached credentials by changing the CachedLogonsCount value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon\ to 0.
For more information, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article:
